Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Cirrulet’s website, macOS app, plugin marketplace, accounts, publisher tools, and related services.

Using Cirrulet

By using Cirrulet, you agree to these terms. If you use Cirrulet on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation. You must be legally capable of entering a contract where you live. If you do not agree, do not use the services.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and sign-in methods and for activity performed through them. Provide accurate information and tell us promptly if you believe an account, publisher key, or licence credential has been compromised.

The app and marketplace

Cirrulet provides a macOS application and a marketplace for plugins that extend it. Plugins may be created by independent publishers. Marketplace build, review, signing, and security checks reduce risk but do not guarantee that a plugin is error-free, suitable for every purpose, or free from every vulnerability. Review a plugin’s listing, permissions, publisher, and release information before installing it.

Cirrulet and its licensors retain rights in the app, website, marketplace, branding, and supporting technology. A plugin’s publisher retains rights in that plugin unless its own licence says otherwise. Downloads grant only the licence described by the listing or accompanying licence terms; they do not transfer ownership.

Connected accounts

A plugin may ask you to connect an account you hold with another service, such as Google Calendar, so that it can work with data you keep there. Nothing is connected until you approve the request, and you choose which account to use. Your use of that service remains governed by your agreement with its provider, and Cirrulet is not responsible for its availability, its pricing, or the accuracy of the data it returns.

Cirrulet holds the resulting credentials on your Mac and uses them only to make the requests the connected plugin is permitted to make. A plugin never receives the credential itself. You may disconnect an account at any time from Connected Accounts in the app’s Plugins window, which asks the provider to revoke the sign-in and deletes it from your Mac; removing a plugin disconnects the accounts it connected. You may instead withdraw a plugin’s authorization from the app’s plugin settings, which stops Cirrulet from using the credential but does not ask the provider to revoke it. A plugin that depended on the connection will stop working until you connect again. The privacy policy describes what is requested and where the data goes.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • break the law or infringe another person’s rights;
  • probe, attack, bypass, disable, or interfere with security, authentication, rate limits, signatures, licences, or access controls;
  • upload malware, stolen material, secrets, deceptive code, or content you do not have the right to distribute;
  • misuse the services to monitor people, scrape data, spam, or access accounts, systems, or information without permission; or
  • resell or exploit the services in a way not permitted by these terms, a listing, or an applicable licence.

Publisher responsibilities

Publishers are responsible for their profiles, signing keys, source submissions, listings, pricing information, licences, support, and the legality, safety, accuracy, and maintenance of their plugins. You grant Cirrulet the rights needed to build, scan, review, host, sign, display, distribute, and promote your submissions and to retain security and provenance records.

We may reject, suspend, deprecate, or remove a plugin or publisher account when needed to protect users, enforce these terms, respond to legal claims, or preserve marketplace integrity. Security review does not transfer a publisher’s responsibilities to Cirrulet.

Purchases, refunds, and licences

Paid plugins are sold as one-time purchases through Stripe Checkout. The price and currency are shown before payment. Stripe processes the payment and may apply its own terms. A successful purchase creates a licence entitlement for the relevant plugin and account, subject to device limits and the listing’s licence terms.

Refunds, disputes, and chargebacks may suspend or end access. A partial refund normally leaves access active; a full refund or lost dispute revokes it. Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory consumer right you have. Where applicable law gives you remedies for faulty or misdescribed digital content, those rights continue to apply.

Availability and changes

We may update, improve, restrict, or discontinue features and may issue security updates, revoke compromised signing material, or block unsafe releases. We aim to keep the services available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Preview, beta, or experimental features may change or be withdrawn without notice.

Ending use

You may stop using Cirrulet at any time and may delete your account through account settings. Account deletion permanently ends access to purchases, licences, device slots, publisher tools, and associated downloads. We may suspend or terminate access for a material or repeated breach, security risk, legal requirement, or harm to users or the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive—such as ownership, payment, audit, liability, and dispute provisions—will continue after termination.

Disclaimers and liability

Cirrulet is provided with reasonable care and skill. Except for rights and obligations that cannot legally be excluded, the services are provided without additional warranties, and we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for misuse of the services, or for independent third-party plugins and services outside our control.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where exclusion is unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your mandatory consumer rights.

Law, contact, and changes to these terms

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except that consumers keep any mandatory protections and rights to bring claims available in the country where they live. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us through the support details presented during sign-in or in your Cirrulet purchase receipt so we can try to resolve the issue.

We may update these terms when the services or law change. The date above shows the latest revision. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide reasonable notice through the service or another appropriate channel. Our privacy policy explains how we handle information.
